Ski Trip 2010

We went on a family vacation to Copper Mountain in Colorado this month. We met up with my sister, Barb, and her family! We rented a condo at the base of the moutain with enough room that the kids had their own room- well kind of! It was on the same floor as Barb's room! It had three floors so the kids spent the time on the upper floor while us adults were on the main floor where it was nice and quiet. The three flights of stairs were unkind to us in the evenings and mornings- didn't seem to bother the kids! I so did not want to put my boots on that last day! I don't think my shins have yet to recover! We even had our own personal limo service- thanks to Brandon and Jeremy- so that we never had to walk in our ski boots and carry the skis! The kids turned into quite the skiers and I am sure we won't be keeping up with them much longer- well me anyway! They didn't want to stop and Emma was ready to ski again on Sunday! So I guess we will have to visit our own 'Copper Mtn." called Mt. La Crosse and continue with the skiing until the snow runs out! We may have the next Brody Miller or Lindsey Vohn in our family! We are excited to go back next year and invite more of our family!!! What a trip!

Destry, Jackson and Matthew waiting for the bus to take us to Union Creek to check in for ski lessons and get all their equipment!

Makenna was so excited to go skiing until they put the boots on and she went upstairs to wait till it was time for ski school to start! She was not happy. They ended up putting her in daycare for the last two days of the trip...

The boys found their flag color and are ready to hit the slopes with their instructor!

Barb and I caught up with the girls on the second day of ski lessons and they were coming down a run. This was their first time on the lift and down a run. They did awesome. We were able to ride up with them again and then left them with their instructor so we could hit the slopes one more time before having to pick them up from ski school!

Best Buddies...

I couldn't resist putting this picture on the blog! This is my goofy sister! We loved her hat- it looked like a wig!

This is a good picture of me ...
The boys in ski school. Matthew did one day of school and then skied with Jeremy one day.

Our last day of skiing was a group effort! The kids did an amazing job! Another year and I don't think the adults will be keeping up with the boys! The girls did awesome and Macy was even going through trails. Emma went through a couple but was a little more timid than Macy.
Umm, yeah! Here is the kiss good-bye to Copper! Emma made me nervous on the lifts! She never sat still and chatted the entire time- and you know how slow the lifts are and some are even long! Yeah just imagine....

Waiting on our flight in Denver that was delayed by 30 minutes b/c of mechinical paperwork! Then we were delayed on our flight out of Minneapolis because the flight attendant didn't show up! They spent 45 minutes trying to track her down! We eventually made it home and with a sick kid on top of it!
